Inter Communications Announces Launch of the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot in Japan

SAN DIEGO and TOKYO, April 26, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ -- Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq: NVTL), a provider of wireless broadband access solutions, today announced that Inter Communications, a leading mobile distributor in Japan, is launching the Novatel Wireless MiFi(R) 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot.

The Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372 represents the industry's first Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, a new category of mobile broadband that lets users put their world of content, services and connectivity in the palm of their hand. The MiFi platform creates a personal cloud of high-speed Internet connectivity that can be easily shared between multiple users and up to five Wi-Fi devices such as laptops, cameras, gaming devices and multimedia players. The MiFi 2372 platform supports 800/850MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz bands for local service in Japan, as well as for global roaming.

Compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, the MiFi 2372 delivers download speeds up to 7.2 megabits per second with enhanced performance for simultaneous uploads/downloads and large file transfers. Compact and simple to use, the MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot from Novatel Wireless includes a microSD slot for expandable memory of up to 16 gigabytes. For its innovative design and engineering, the MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot was recently named the "Best of Innovations" award winner in the "Enabling Technologies" category at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2010 in Las Vegas.
